PRESIDENT – TAMMIE KOTANI, CTE

Coordinator, Corporate Travel Program/Administrative Assistant

Office of the President & CEO|VP, Strategic Planning & The Queen’s Health Systems

Tammie’s primary responsibilities are managing/administering the system-wide corporate travel program for The Queen’s Health Systems companies: Daily oversight and travel & expense authorization, decision-making, policy creation and compliance, training, vendor negotiation and relations, complaint resolutions and account reconciliation.  Handles and performs administrative responsibilities for the Office of the President & CEO and the VP, Strategic Planning & Marketing, in addition, functions as the Office Coordinator for Corporate Administration.

 

TREASURER – WENDY YIM

VP/Treasurer of Progressive Marketing, Inc.,

Progressive Marketing, Inc. is a food brokerage company started by Wendy’s husband in 1979. She handles the administrative and bookkeeping duties for her office.  PMI represents twenty-eight food manufacturers for the State of Hawai‘i and sells their products to the foodservice industry: hotels, restaurants, drive-ins, schools and hospitals. In the past she has served on the Hospitality Committee and has been the current Treasurer since 2008.

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR – JUN LOOK

Corporate Sales Manager, Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio

Jun has 18 years in the hospitality industry in Hawai‘i. She has held management positions with Expedia, Prince Resorts Hawai‘i, Hawai‘i Prince and Hawaiian Regent (now Waikiki Beach Marriot). Her responsibilities in her current Corporate Sales position require her to oversee the local corporate and national corporate market segment for the Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel. She has been a member of HBTA since 2008.

 

PROGRAMS CHAIR AND GOVERNMENT LIAISON – LORENA HORIUCHI

Corporate Sales Manager, Doubletree Alana Waikiki Hotel

Lorena has been with the Doubletree Alana Waikiki Hotel for 12 years. She manages the individual and group corporate travel as well as solicits for citywide convention groups.

She has been a member of the HBTA since 1998, and has served on the board as its Program Director since January 2009.

 

HOSPITALITY CHAIR – KATHY AHSAM

Sales Manager, Aston Executive Centre Hotel

Kathy’s career in the travel/hotel industry has spanned over 30 years. After many years in Waikiki, she moved to her current position where she is responsible for all aspects of sales for the hotel; achieving revenue budget, maintaining and generating new sources of business, representing the Executive Centre Hotel in major Corporate and Government Trade Shows, Sales Calls, develop promotions to address fluctuating demands. She also works hand in hand with Aston Corporate Sales to promote the Executive Centre Hotel.

 


DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR – KAINOA DAINES

Director of Sales/Cultural Director, Queen Kapi‘olani Hotel

Kainoa was previously at the Miramar At Waikiki from May of 2004 as Sales Manager, he now takes care of Sales and Culture for the newly independent Queen Kapi’olani. Prior to the Miramar, he was the Hawai‘i Destination Representative for Canadian based Fun Sun Vacations.  He has also worked on the Las Vegas Strip at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino and famous Mirage Resort & Casino.  Kainoa is also the Chair of the King Kamehameha Celebration Commission and heavily involved in the Hawaiian community in general.  He has been a member of HBTA since 2005 and has served as Hospitality Chair before serving as current Communications Chair.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS CHAIR – BERNIE SALVADOR

District Sales Manager, Hawaiian Airlines

Bernie has been with Hawaiian Airlines for 22 years. She handles State, City and Corporate Accounts at Hawaiian Airlines. Her main focus is to acquire new accounts for the company as well as provide the best customer service for her customers. She has been a member of HBTA since 1999.

 

PAST PRESIDENT AND ADVISOR – LESLIE CHO

Corporate & Government Sales Manager, Ala Moana Hotel

Leslie has been in the travel industry for well over 20 years. She worked for the Hertz Corporation and Northwest Airlines and traveled extensively over the years. Her travels have taken her to Europe, Asia and all over the continental United States as well as Guam. She is the past President of HBTA.
